May / June runs

by on Jul.02, 2012, under Training Runs

Haven’t posted in a long time.  It’s been a very frustrating couple of months but I may be on the other side of injuries soon.  Just as I increased my distance for Chicago training I had this sudden pain in my left leg, butt, then shin, then knee.  This has been my life for the past 2 months trying to understand and resolve this.  I ran this morning and for the first time felt relatively pain free.  I am thinking that it was caused by something pulled in my back from working in the garden, moving dirt and mulch. For the first time in my life I’ve felt some improvement from going to a chiropractor.   Learning a lot about the nervous system and how it controls the body and why pain in your leg can be caused by your back.  Ran yesterday and after a mile and a half I had to walk.  Today we ran 5.5 and I felt good the whole way, except a bit tired from not running as much.  We’ll see how this week goes.  I need to get back on track for Chicago.
