Taper time continues

It’s like holding the horses back when they want to run. Forcing myself to rest and not run this week. Knowing that there is nothing I can do to “put more in the bank”. Went for an easy 3-4 mile run with a slower group today, just out to stretch out the legs and breathe. Starting to get a little apprehensive about the race, all natural stuff as I near the starting line. I’ll just keep tapering, resting and toe the starting line in a few days and do my best to put the hurt on the course. I’ll remember my friend Frank who I told to leave it all out on the course at the New Orleans marathon last weekend. He said he kept remembering that as he wanted to slow. He got a PR time and had to go to the medical tent for oxygen and an IV. With race day temps expecting to be in the 60’s I may be in the same boat after doing all of my training with weather in the 20’s! It’s not suppose to be easy, its a marathon.
